There Is Only One Of You!!!!!!

For most people, as they grow up, there is a tendency to want to be like someone else. Whenever someone is successful in life or they find the person with a lot of credibility, the tendency is to go and follow and try and mimic that person.

Now, whilst that is ok in some areas, the whole basis where you mirror image them takes away your authenticity and so you are not able to showcase who you really are.

The reality is that.......

No one talks like you

No one looks like you

No one acts like you

No one can ever be the same as you

They may try and ‘mimic’ you

But

There really is no one like you

Except for you

You are unique!!!!!!

You are special!!!!!!

Be safe in the knowledge that you are one of a kind and that you don’t need to be like someone else in order to be successful.

Who cares for you?

Around 3 years ago, I went for a routine visit to my GP so I can have my annual check up. My GP asked me how I was feeling so we had a discussion and then he said this - “You care for so many people but who cares for you”

At first, I didn’t really want to answer the question but after I left, I had time ponder on it and I really struggled at answering the question until I came to this conclusion which was If I don’t care for and look after myself, no one else will. It sounds selfish but in reality, it is the truth.
When I was studying and also teaching at the same time, I only had like one day to myself and even then I was always on call, I rarely had time for myself. When I did have time for myself, I always found myself looking after other people before myself. When my body broke down in August last year, that was when I learnt the harsh reality that I really need to be caring for myself more.

There will be times where you will need to be there for other people and if caring is your nature then it will be something that you do naturally however you can’t do care for other people if you are not in the best of conditions. Don’t wait until your body breaks down in order to start looking after yourself, Don’t wait until you become ill in order to start looking after yourself.
I have’t been the best in looking after myself because I had wanted to care for everybody else but 3 years later, I’ve taken a huge leap in finally caring for myself.

Recently, I saw a post via social media and there was a carer who devoted himself to care for other people but eventually it got too much and he took his own life. He cared for so many people but who was caring for him?

Below are a few tips at which you can care for and look after yourself
- Have regular check ups
- Eat healthily / have a healthy diet
- Have time for yourself
- Regular exercise (this could be going for walks or even going to the gym)
- Have a regular sleep pattern
- Set Boundaries

There are more tips I could provide but maybe you could write yourself a list and put them into practice......

Now i’m On the road to recovery, i’ll Be sharing a lot more of story with you all. Be intentional about yourself, be intentional about how you care and look after yourself.

See you all soon.

Are you well?

Wellbeing is 'the state of being comfortable, healthy, or happy'. It's a generic term for the condition where the social, financial, psychological, spiritual or medical state. This usually means that individual's condition is positive and very high.

When someone says, 'I am well' this could be an indication that they really are well but on the other hands, is it the actual truth?

Do you have perfect wellbeing? Can you honestly say that you are happy? Can you honestly say that you are in a good place right now?

Throughout your life, you will go through times where you may feel well physically but emotionally, you feel shipwrecked. There will be times where you will feel financially well but socially you're not well in that area. For one to really achieve positive wellbeing, all the different areas must be well balanced.

Over the next few weeks, we will be looking at Wellbeing in several key areas. The first one is Physical............

If you have ever woke up in the morning and you feel tired, low of energy or no general interest in getting up, there could be a possibility that your body is not in a good condition. So, how can you ensure that your body is in a top condition? You can take up exercise, you can start a diet or you can just make changes to your lifestyle. There may also be a medical reason why you feel so burnt out at times so it's very wise to see your doctor so you can see if there any underlying causes.

There are different stages to attaining physical health, what's needed is maintaining regular exercise, maintaining a healthy diet and the most important part, relaxation. Relaxation is something that we fail to add as part of our lifestyle. If perfect wellbeing is to be realised, then we must learn to relax and have proper rest.

Our next part will be on Emotional wellbeing. Stay tuned

A new Level #openthoughts

Lately, I've hated the idea of getting older and older *sighs* however that idea has now subsided and I am very much looking forward to what is going to happen next.
If you are like me, I always want to know what is happening next or what will take place so I can plan for it properly or put some contingency plan in place but lately I have just been resting in God and allowing him to take control.

I turned 29 on 1st April and I was quite excited because I had entered a new age and with that comes new opportunities but also it pushes me closer to the big age of 30.................and by this time you would expect that one would be married, have a nice house or at least be financially stable but sadly that's not the case. Pondering on that, I had a chat with God and he said that I need to trust him more and that I shouldn't worry about it too tough. With that, I am moving onto a new level and I am very excited at what God has in store.

The past year had been a year of trials, tribulations and a lot of challenges. It had it's up and downs, it had it's high and lows and there was a time I thought I wouldn't even make it to the end of 2016 but God turned it around. Those times where I couldn't see a way out, God would always make a way.

As I spent time thanking God for seeing me through another year this is the word he delivered to me

Get ready to move because I am getting ready to move to you a new level. I am getting ready to elevate you, to enlarge you, to stretch you, to challenge you and to give you new visions, ideas and dreams.

I am still celebrating my birthday however so If you would like to bless me lol God will bless you also.

Thank you for tuning in and I am looking forward to the opportunities that are going to come my way. Sooo, let's network and let's build together

Fragrance Delight - My Search for a Fragrance Kit

Hey everyone, how you all doing. As I write this, it's looking like a very grey day. Things must go on so, recently, I started to look for a new fragrance kit.
I approached Lynx and because they were promoting some new products, they sent me some to try out.
I received some hair gel, some deodorant and some deodorant spray.
The spray has a very distinctive smell, a very nice distinctive smell. It was one that got me hooked from the first time I put it on. It's small but very powerful. This is a contender to my included in my everyday fragrance kit but the search goes on. I would give it a 8/10

I was very impressed with how the hair gel made my hair feel. It left my hair feeling rather soft which is something that I crave.

So my quest went a step further which resulted in me being sent a new cologne by Etat Libre D'Orange. The excitement before the delivery was very real. When it reached my house, my eyes were drawn to the design, very simple but detailed.
As you would imagine, when I tried some for the very first time, I was very impressed. I fell in love straight away, the scent was one that lasted quite a while. If you are like me, there would be some caution when trying a new aftershave or perfume but this time, I was open to trying a new aftershave and as a result I have been left feeling very positive my next purchase from them.

On the other hand, I will admit that my search for a fragrance kit carries on.

So, I will provide an update next week on my search for a new fragrance kit. Until then, ciao.

Food and Drink: Nutella Blended Coffee

Hey guys, so a while ago I wanted to dive into food and drink industry. So, here is my first foray into this field.

This Morning whilst I was on my daily duties, I came across a shop called Coffee Bazaar, situated on Edgware Road, not far from Frampton Street. The service was impeccable, the interior of the shop was a far cry from your normal coffee shop. It was quite cosy, somewhere you can sit for hours.

What caught my eye, was the Nutella blended Coffee. Now, if you are like me, then you would guess my reaction then yeah would guess at how hesitant I was to try it let alone buy it.
Nevertheless, I went ahead and purchased one. Once I put it to my mouth, the taste alone sent my tastebuds into overdrive. Never before had I tasted something so excellent and mouth watering. To say it's something I will purchase everyday would be quite wrong, I'd only buy it as a treat or to properly wake me up in the morning. If you have a weakness with sugar, I suggest you avoid this but if you can handle it, then go ahead and purchase one. All in all, I loved my purchase and I will definitely like to purchase one again.

There will be some shops who will make Nutella blended coffee so I would purchase one and see just how mouthwatering is. I can still taste, I may just go back and consume another one.

Until next time, enjoy yourself.

See ya'll soon
